Admittedly ScHool Boy Q has not been my favorite member of the Black Hippy posse. When you’re in a crew with cats like Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar that’s not saying a whole helluva lot. But his brand of “dick” and “fuck a bitch” Rap just wasn’t that appealing to me. I can only listen to a dude talk about his own penis so much before I start to feel like the whole experience is kinda, well, Gay, ya know?
That said, I’m down with ScHoolboy’s new APlus Filmz-directed video “Man of the Year”. The celebratory jam with the decadent clip is from Q’s forthcoming major label debut (and third overall release) ‘Oxymoron’. It could be the ass & titties that won me over. Or maybe it’s the beat that samples one of my favorite bands, Chromatics, that made me a convert? Ionno. But I fucks with this.
‘Oxymoron’ is supposed to drop on TDE/Interscope on February 25th.
