One of the Hip-Hop generation’s most forward thinking beatmakers, Flying Lotus, collaborates with one of the current Rap game’s most gifted emcees, Kendrick Lamar, on “Never Catch Me”.

The result is a track where the smooth & smoky instrumentation of Black Classical music, the odd angles of Free Jazz, the sophisticated grooves of Funk, the vocal stylings, “kitchen sink” production ethos, and sense of rhythm of Hip-Hop, the spirit of Gospel, and beats culled from Chi-town’s Juke/Footwork scene, not only all exist on the same plane, but work together to make an incredible song.

While Hiro Murai’s short film is absolutely beautiful, and is the perfect visual accompaniment to such a jaw-dropping piece of music.

“Never Catch Me” is the first single from Flylo’s upcoming album ‘You’re Dead’, which is being billed as “a psychedelic death trip”, and is out tomorrow on Warp Records.
