I like hearing a new song and getting obsessed with it. One of my latest obsessions is a smoothed out Future Soul jam called “Drink I’m Sippin On” from twentysomething DJ, producer, and vocalist Yaeji. The bass-heavy beat, seductively breathy vocal style, and English/Korean lyrics are ear-grabbing enough. But her sort of nerdy, “normal girl” image, and Queer-friendly aesthetic are life right now!
“Drink I’m Sippin On” is sort of a departure from her normal style, which is usually a more dancefloor friendly style of four-on-the-floor House music. But you already know I dig that stuff. If you do too you should check out her self-titled debut EP which is out now on Godmode Music.
