I’ve been listening to ‘Everything’s Fine’, the collaborative LP by Brooklyn based Rap superhero Jean Grae and Detroit bred producer/emcee Quelle Chris, a whole lot lately.
The dirty Jazz beats and abstract poetry of “Gold Purple Orange” make me think this is what Digable Planets would, or should, sound like if they were still together and making records in 2018.
The Jean Grae directed video clip, which features cameos from Eric Andre and and Hannibal Buress among others, is funny AF too.
‘Everthing’s Fine’, which is an easy contender for best Hip-Hop album of the year, is out now on Mello Music Group.
