It’s already a viral hit so I don’t feel like I’m telling you about anything you didn’t already know when I say Los Angeles based singer, rapper, and producer Dumisani “Doja Cat” Dlamini’s “Mooo!” is the song of the Summer.
The production, comprised of a jazzy sample flittering over Bounce-inspired drum programming, is breezy as fuck, while the lyrics and accompanying video aim for heights of surreal absurdity rarely if ever reached by the Hip-Hop, R&B, or Pop genres.
It’s kinda adorable, sorta smart, and so fucking catchy that I find myself singing along to it at the most inopportune of times.
Though I do have to confess I actually own a cow onesie, so maybe I’m a tad biased?
I’ve been following Doja Cat for a minute and have a few of her songs on Spotify playlists but to be honest I have no idea where you can purchase or even stream “Mooo!” at this point other than YouTube.
