For the last few years producer-turned-singer Roberto Carlos Lange, formerly known as Epstein and preferably known as Helado Negro, has dropped at least one album of beautiful, largely Spanish-language, Electronic jams on the listening public on a pretty much annual basis.

This year the former Savath y Savalas band-member hasn’t disappointed by releasing ‘Double Youth’, yet another collection of gorgeous beats that blend his multiform influences — Hip-Hop, Krautrock, modern IDM and Electronica, R&B “slow jams”, and music from across the Afro-Latin diaspora — with his unique post-modern lounge-lizard croonery.

“Invisible Heartbeat” encapsulates his brand of very human robot music in all its warm-to-the-touch humanity and too-hot-to-touch circuit mechanics, while the video, directed by Ryan Dickie, projects playfully hallucinogenic imagery, including some really interesting geometric shapes towards the end.

‘Double Youth’ is out now on the Asthmatic Kitty label.
