Speaking of blog favorites Hot Chip, they’ve got a new single and video out called “Huarache Lights”.
The song, which gives me a bit of a Jacksons circa “Can You Feel It” vibe, grew on me a lot as I watched the video for the first time.
Robot voice always wins me over.
Yet and still, I kinda wish they’d set some of the serious band-ness they’ve picked up over the years aside.
A return to the raw, “recorded in Joe’s bedroom on a Compaq” style production and quirky songwriting that made us love them in the first place is in order.
“Huarache Lights” is from the group’s sixth LP ‘Why Make Sense?’, out May 18th on Domino Records.
