Panic! at the Disco - LA Devotee

Not a huge fan of Panic! at the Disco’s brand of Pop-Punk or the early 2000’s scene that spawned it.  But I caught a video from a crazy YouTube conspiracy guy about the “Satanic” imagery and supposed “mind control” content in the clip for the Las Vegas bred band’s newest single “LA Devotee” and decided I had to share it here.

The song leans kind of heavy on Power-Pop theatricality more than anything remotely Punk, and that’s fine with me.  Its lyrics reference “black magic” and “Mulholland Drive” (likely both the Dadvid Lynch film and the LA-area landmark) and the video features images of Baphomet, a kidnapping, some creepy cult activity, and some allusions to MKULTRA mind control techniques.  It also features young actor Noah Schnapp, best known for playing Will on Netflix’s hit show ‘Stranger Things’!

“LA Devotee” is from the band’s newest album ‘Death of a Bachelor’ which dropped early this year on the Fueled By Ramen label.
